The first hearing of the case related to the death of Adem Kaya (35) and his daughters Açelya Mina (5) and Alya Kaya (7), who were trapped under rocks and soil that broke off due to excitement while washing a car in the car wash section of a gas station in SAMSUN, and the injury of his wife Çiğdem Kaya (31), was held.

Adem Kaya's father, İrfan Kaya, said, "I want justice. I had one son, and I had two grandchildren; they are gone. They left my daughter-in-law half-finished. We want the justice given by God first, and then by the state."

'WE REQUESTED A CONVICTION FOR NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE'

The family's lawyer, Kartal Akcan, also stated, "If public institutions had taken the necessary precautions here, this trial would not be happening today. Our regulations, laws, and directives are perfect, but they need to be followed. May God spare no one from the pain of losing a child. I believe that the decision of the heavy penal court will be a starting point to prevent such incidents in the future and to spare families from heartache. Our law includes negligent homicide, as well as possible intent. Possible intent is like intent, it means 'if it happens, so be it.' Entering a street at 120 kilometers per hour means 'if it happens, so be it.' Negligent homicide means failing to take necessary precautions and being indifferent. We requested, at the very least, a conviction for negligent homicide," he said.
