In Savaştepe, Balıkesir, a municipal officer named İsmail Y. was arrested for making insulting posts about Atatürk on social media. The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation on charges of "violating the Law on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk" and "inciting hatred and hostility among the public."

The municipal police officer İsmail Y (36), who works at the Balıkesir Savaştepe Municipality, is under investigation by the prosecutor's office regarding the insults and words inciting hatred and hostility in the audio and video recordings he shared on his social media account.

HE WAS ARRESTED AFTER THE PROSECUTOR'S INTERROGATION

İsmail Y, who was detained by the district police department teams, was referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the police station. After the prosecutor's interrogation, İsmail Y was brought before the duty magistrate and was arrested for "violating the Law on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk" and "inciting or humiliating the public to hatred and hostility."
