The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the number of passengers traveling by air reached 45 million 175 thousand 946 in the first quarter of 2025. Uraloğlu also stated that 6.1 million passengers were served at airports during the holiday period of Ramadan, from March 28 to April 6, and he revealed that passenger records for 2025 were broken at many airports.

ISTANBUL AIRPORT SERVED 258,242 PASSENGERS IN ONE DAY



Minister Uraloğlu stated that the number of passengers hosted at airports across Turkey during the Ramadan holiday from March 28 to April 6 reached 6,107,894, and the aircraft traffic served was 42,521. He also noted that passenger records for 2025 were broken at Istanbul, Esenboğa, Adnan Menderes, Antalya, Milas-Bodrum, and Dalaman airports during these dates, adding the following statements: "From March 28 to April 6, there were 15,189 aircraft movements at Istanbul Airport. Here, 2,313,597 passengers were served, and on Sunday, April 6, when return journeys increased, we hosted 258,242 passengers, reaching the highest figure of 2025. During this period, there were also 2,513 aircraft movements at Esenboğa Airport, with 382,737 passengers using our airport. Esenboğa Airport also broke this year's passenger record by serving 41,577 people on April 6."

Uraloğlu mentioned that at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 2,035 aircraft movements served 316,790 passengers, and on April 6, the highest passenger count of 2025 was reached with 35,246 passengers.



Uraloğlu also stated that during the period from March 28 to April 6, there were 4,202 aircraft movements at Antalya Airport, serving 590,189 passengers, and on Saturday, April 5, the airport broke this year's passenger record by reaching 78,085 passengers. He added the following statements: "At Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, 58,486 passengers were served with 437 aircraft movements during the specified period. At Muğla Dalaman Airport, 631 aircraft movements occurred during the holiday, and we hosted 83,712 guests. Both of our airports reached the highest figures of 2025 on April 6. On that date, Milas-Bodrum Airport hosted 7,507 passengers, while Dalaman Airport hosted 10,615 passengers."

In the first quarter of 2025, Uraloğlu noted that the aircraft traffic landing and taking off at airports reached 204,856 for domestic flights and 164,880 for international flights, thus reaching a total of 500,022 aircraft movements including overflights. He stated that during this period, the domestic passenger traffic at airports across Turkey was 20,680,980, and the international passenger traffic was 24,458,978, serving a total of 45,175,946 passengers including direct transit passengers. By the end of March 2025, the passenger traffic served showed a 2.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, including direct transit. The cargo traffic at airports reached a total of 1,038,913 tons for both domestic and international flights.



ISTANBUL AIRPORT SERVED 17,961,463 PASSENGERS IN THREE MONTHS



Minister Uraloğlu explained that at Istanbul Airport, one of Turkey's mega projects, there were a total of 121,638 aircraft movements during the January-March period, with 25,576 for domestic flights and 96,062 for international flights. "A total of 17,961,463 passengers were served, with 3,423,383 for domestic flights and 14,538,080 for international flights," he said.



Uraloğlu also provided information about the passenger traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, stating, "In the first quarter of the year, the passenger traffic reached a total of 10,304,842, with 4,320,650 for domestic flights and 5,984,192 for international flights. The aircraft traffic reached a total of 60,922, with 25,135 for domestic flights and 35,787 for international flights." He also reported that the aircraft traffic at Istanbul Atatürk Airport was 6,186 during the three-month period.

TOURISM CENTERS HOSTED 6,065,830 PASSENGERS IN THREE MONTHS



Minister Uraloğlu noted that the number of passengers served at airports in tourism centers reached a total of 6,065,830, with 3,604,058 for domestic flights and 2,461,772 for international flights. He stated that there were a total of 50,107 aircraft movements, with 31,971 for domestic flights and 18,136 for international flights. Uraloğlu continued his statements as follows: "During the three-month period, 2,358,052 passengers were served at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 3,036,451 at Antalya Airport, and 259,170 at Muğla Dalaman Airport. A total of 297,936 passengers were served at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, while a total of 114,221 passenger traffic occurred at Gazipaşa Alanya Airport."
