PUTIN GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT FOR PEACE
Witkoff, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the third time last week in St. Petersburg, Russia, stated that Putin is open to a "permanent peace" agreement with Ukraine. Witkoff said, "Putin's request is to establish a permanent peace here. So beyond a ceasefire, we received a response on this matter. It took us time to reach this point."
"THE PEACE PLAN COVERS 5 REGIONS"
Witkoff mentioned that the peace plan on the agenda also includes the "five regions" referring to the areas of Ukraine under Russian occupation, but he added that Russia's demand for Ukraine to withdraw its NATO membership application is also on the table. Witkoff expressed that there is a complex situation arising from the real issues between the two countries, stating, "I think we may be on the verge of something very, very important for the whole world."
Witkoff, noting that discussions are part of the commercial relations between the U.S. and Russia, said, "I believe there is an opportunity to reshape Russia-U.S. relations through some commercial opportunities that I believe will bring real stability to the region."
