In the operation against "manipulating the tender," Beykoz Deputy Mayor Fidan Gül, who was detained, had his house raided yesterday, and the door was opened to the police by Bilgehan Murat Miniç, the other Deputy Mayor of the district. Miniç, who had previously been involved in rumors of an affair with a municipal employee, stated in his announcement that he was at Gül's house to provide support during the detention process.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Beykoz Deputy Mayor Fidan Gül on the allegation that he was involved in some procurement tenders within the Beykoz Municipality Social Assistance Affairs Directorate.
THE DOOR WAS OPENED BY THE OTHER DEPUTY MAYOR
As part of the investigation, teams from the Istanbul Financial Crimes Fighting Branch went to Fidan Gül's address in Beylikdüzü for his detention in the early hours of the morning. At 7:30 AM, the police rang the doorbell of the residence, and it was opened by Beykoz Deputy Mayor Bilgehan Murat Miniç. When asked about Fidan Gül's whereabouts, Miniç provided the answer inside to the police.
ALLEGATION: "REMOVE MİNİÇ FROM OFFICE IMMEDIATELY"
Miniç's appearance at Gül's house caused a significant public outcry. Following this development, it was claimed that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called Beykoz Municipality and instructed that Bilgehan Murat Miniç be removed from his position.
"CORRESPONDENCE COMPLETED"
While the Beykoz Municipality Management has not made any statements regarding the matter, it was claimed that the necessary correspondence for Miniç's removal from office has been completed.
A STATEMENT FROM MURAT MİNİÇ
Following the developments, Beykoz Deputy Mayor Murat Miniç issued a noteworthy statement. Miniç, who stated that he went to Gül's house for support, said, "We arrived at his residence around 8 AM to be with our colleague and Beykoz Deputy Mayor Mr. Fidan Gül during his detention process."
"IT IS OBVIOUS THAT GÜL WILL RETURN TO HIS DUTIES"
Our colleague, who will easily go and give a statement if called, has been unjustly detained. Throughout the day, our lawyers participated in the statement process. Our deputy mayor is being held in custody due to baseless and unfounded allegations. It is clear that he will be released after tomorrow's prosecutor's statement and will return to his duties and to us. Any misleading, ugly, and immoral allegations against this are absolutely not reflective of the truth.
