Following the statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding his candidacy for president, a notable response came from Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş's camp. Mehmet Bayır, known for his close ties to Yavaş, stated, "Mansur Yavaş will definitely be a candidate for president and will become the president."
CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel made striking statements regarding the process of determining the presidential candidate at his party's group meeting today.
"İMAMOĞLU AND YAVAŞ SAID 'YES'"
Özel stated that they held a series of meetings with Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, saying, "We held a series of meetings in Istanbul. In that meeting, we discussed and evaluated with Ekrem (İmamoğlu) and Mansur (Yavaş) mayors. Our consensus on being ready together for a new beginning, a new process is complete."
Özel noted that both names approved their candidacy for the presidency, stating, "One of the greatest satisfactions I have heard is that I thank the two democracy heroes for their honorable sentences that start with 'if my party gives me a task'."
MANSUR YAVAŞ RAISED HIS HAND
While discussions regarding the presidential candidacy continue; following Özel's statements, the Mansur Yavaş side also raised their hand. Mehmet Bayır, known for his closeness to Yavaş, stated in a social media post, "Mansur Yavaş will definitely be a presidential candidate and will be the President. This is a debt of Mansur President to Turkey. When the time comes, he will repay that debt."
