Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that they do not expect an armed conflict with Turkey, saying, 'We foresee war under no circumstances.' Mitsotakis, who said he is always ready to meet with President Erdogan, announced that if they come together at the NATO Summit, he will only raise the issue of delimiting maritime jurisdiction areas in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made assessments regarding Turkey-Greece relations and potential military tensions in an interview he gave to the Greek news platform Liberal.
Highlighting the importance of keeping communication channels open with Turkey, Mitsotakis stated that his country will continue to strengthen its deterrence capacity, but this does not imply an expectation of war.
"WE DO NOT FORESEE WAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"
Emphasizing that they do not expect an armed conflict with Turkey, Mitsotakis said: "We do not foresee war under any circumstances. We must strengthen our deterrence so that no one even considers challenging Greece's sovereignty."
Stating that Greece's priority is regional stability, Mitsotakis noted that issues between the two countries should be resolved through dialogue.

Saying he is open to meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Mitsotakis pointed to the importance of maintaining communication channels with Turkey.
Mitsotakis said, "Geography condemns us to live together in peace despite our differences. I will always negotiate with Turkey from the strongest possible position."
MARITIME JURISDICTION AREAS ON THE AGENDA AT NATO SUMMIT
Mitsotakis announced that if he meets with President Erdoğan at the upcoming NATO Summit, he will only bring up the issue of delimiting maritime jurisdiction areas in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
The Greek leader also recalled that during his previous contacts in Ankara, he directly raised the 1995 casus belli resolution of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), which considers Greece extending its territorial waters to 12 miles as a cause for war.
