Following the absolute nullity decision, the intense signing by MPs ahead of CHP's first Group Meeting drew attention. Mahmut Tanal, CHP Şanlıurfa MP, stated that the signatures were not related to group management but were for motions concerning the Soil Protection Law.

Ahead of the first Group Meeting to be held in the CHP after the absolute nullity decision, images of many deputies signing one after another drew attention in political circles. REASON FOR SIGNATURES QUESTIONED

As deputies were seen signing intensively before the group meeting, comments were made about whether the signatures were related to an internal party process.

Clarifying the issue, Mahmut Tanal referred to the CHP Group Internal Regulations and stated that the rules regarding the group presidency and group administration are clear.

Mahmut Tanal stated that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is also the chair of the parliamentary group, emphasizing that the group internal regulations contain clear provisions on this matter. Tanal noted that similar practices occurred in previous periods and argued that this is not a new situation.

Making a statement regarding the reason for the signature activity, Tanal said that the deputies signed motions related to the Soil Conservation Law.

Tanal stated, "The motions we signed were motions aimed at protecting the Soil Law. Unfortunately, this government is now trying to abolish the Soil Law as well."
