A passenger plane crashed in the residential area of Meghani Nagar in Ahmedabad, Gujarat state, India. According to reports in the Indian press, there were 242 passengers on board the plane.

THERE WERE 242 PEOPLE ON BOARD
There were a total of 242 people on board the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. It was determined that the flight was Air India flight 171.

Online flight tracking systems indicate that this flight was scheduled to depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at 13:10 local time and was planned to go to Gatwick Airport in London.
