Due to the rugged terrain in Rize, a football field could not be built, so as a solution, the roof of a newly constructed tea purchasing station was converted into an artificial turf field with wire fences and synthetic grass, serving the neighborhood residents and young people preparing for tournaments.
In the Soğuksu neighborhood of Büyükköy town in Çayeli district, Rize, the rugged terrain of the region was not suitable for building an artificial turf field for the youth and residents, so a striking project was undertaken.
ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELD BUILT ON TOP OF TEA PURCHASING STATION
The flat area needed for an artificial turf field, which could not be built on the slope, was found on top of the newly constructed tea purchasing station in the neighborhood. The purchasing station was wrapped with wire mesh, artificial grass was laid on top, and the artificial turf field was created.
'IT BECAME THE SUPER OF SUPER'
Mustafa Durmuş, stating that a beautiful area was created to prepare for the Büyükköy town football tournament held for the first time last year, said, 'As Büyükköy Valley, we got involved in a tournament last year, with the encouragement of our muhtar Ramazan Küçüksarı. We plan to hold it every year. We even have plans to turn it into a festival in the future. We participated as a neighborhood. We will continue again this year. It is a great organization. We have a field, and we are trying to raise players. May the next generation after us play good football. There are all kinds of opportunities. It became the super of super, so to speak. What more can we say? We say long live our state. We thank everyone who contributed, our Provincial Youth Sports director, and our Minister Osman Aşkın Bak.'
'IT BECAME A BEAUTIFUL FIELD FOR OUR VILLAGE'
İbrahim Efe Durmuş, a young person who expressed that the artificial turf field built on top of the tea purchasing station in their neighborhood was a great opportunity for them, said, 'It became a beautiful field for our village. Our youth will play football here, and we will grow up as a small generation. We also have a football tournament this year. With God's permission, we want to prepare well for it. It could have been better, we would have played better, but it happened later but we are happy that it is here now. May God be pleased with whoever did it. We thank you for bringing this field to us.'
