"3 days before the extraordinary elective general assembly to be held on June 11 in Karşıyaka, one of İzmir’s established clubs, no presidential candidate has yet emerged, raising the risk of the administration being placed under trusteeship."

In Karşıyaka, Izmir's most established sports club, the administration faces the risk of being assigned a trustee if no candidate comes forward. Three days before the extraordinary election assembly on June 11, no presidential candidate has yet emerged.

KARŞIYAKA SEEKS A PRESIDENT

Former Basketball Branch President Kerem Copcu, who announced on his social media account that it was not the right time for Emrah Akman, mentioned as a potential candidate, to seek the position, stated that the most suitable person is former administrator Alp Avni Yelkenbiçer. Alp Avni Yelkenbiçer also responded to Copcu on social media, saying that being associated with the Karşıyaka presidency is a great honor, but he could only take a role in an administration led by Kerem Copcu.

POSSIBILITY OF THE CICIBAŞ FORMULA OR TRUSTEE AGAIN

In the green-and-red club, where no candidates have stepped forward, it was learned that former president İlker Ergüllü would not refuse a role only if Folkart Board Chairman Mesut Sancak wanted to act together. President Aygün Cicibaş had announced he would not run despite the lifting of his 6222 penalty. If no candidate emerges by election day, the possibility of forming a list under Cicibaş's presidency, as happened last year, is being discussed. Aygün Cicibaş had announced his candidacy on the last day last summer to prevent the club from falling into trusteeship.

FANS THANK SANCAK

Despite his significant support for Karşıyaka's survival in the Basketball Super League, Folkart Board Chairman Mesut Sancak, who was reserved about name sponsorship ahead of the new season, has not been forgotten by fans for his contributions. As the Karşıyaka community eagerly awaits whether Mesut Sancak will sponsor the team before the general assembly, fans have published a thank-you message to the Sancak Family for their contributions. The Sancak Family, who in previous years also closed Karşıyaka's important debt files with FIFA, preventing the football team from receiving point deductions and relegation penalties, was thanked by Karşıyaka supporters who hope the support continues. The Karşıyaka community is trying to meet again with the Sancak Family before the congress.

BÜYÜKKARCI: I HAVE CLOSED THE MANAGEMENT BOOK

Turgay Büyükkarcı, who served as Karşıyaka's president for 5.5 years, made a statement regarding his name being included in some formations. Emphasizing that he has closed the club management book, Turgay Büyükkarcı said, "The recent association of my name with certain individuals and its inclusion in various evaluations has deeply saddened me. Throughout my life, I have believed that honor, character, and conscience are more valuable than any position or title. Therefore, I have never supported any understanding incompatible with Karşıyaka's values, and I never will. To avoid becoming part of misunderstandings and unnecessary debates, I maintain my earlier decision and once again state that I have closed my management chapter. However, I want it to be known that my love, loyalty, and sense of responsibility toward Karşıyaka Sports Club continue today as they did yesterday. I will always be ready to share the knowledge, experience, and accumulation I possess alongside people who prioritize Karşıyaka's interests above all, work with good intentions, and protect this club's values. My wish is for a club environment where Karşıyaka, not names, is discussed; unity, not grievances, comes to the forefront; and respect, conscience, and common sense prevail once again."
