With the new year, a 6% Special Consumption Tax (SCT) increase will come into effect for fuel, and another price increase for gasoline is expected on Tuesday.

IT WILL BE 45 LIRA 32 KURUŞ IN ISTANBUL

Accordingly, a price increase of 1 lira 27 kuruş is anticipated in the gasoline group. While no price changes are expected in the diesel group, if the rumored increase in gasoline occurs, the price of gasoline will be 45 lira 32 kuruş in Istanbul.

Gasoline will rise to 46 lira 16 kuruş in Izmir and 45 lira 70 kuruş in Ankara. If this increase occurs, the price of gasoline will have risen by 7.60% in the last month.

HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?

Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.

EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES

After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with the public until the legal process is concluded.
