Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that nearly half of the excavation and filling work has been completed on the 120-kilometer Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway project, which will connect 42 provinces. With the completion of the project, which will reduce travel time between Ankara and Kırıkkale from 80 minutes to 43 minutes, an annual total savings of 6.8 billion lira in time and fuel is targeted.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that work is continuing intensively on the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway Project, saying, "The project, which will connect 42 provinces, will significantly reduce the traffic load on the existing Ankara-Kırıkkale State Road."
Minister Uraloglu made a written statement regarding the work on the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway Project. Minister Uraloglu noted that Kırıkkale is at the junction of roads opening to the East via Yozgat-Sivas, to the Central Black Sea region via Çorum, and to the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast via Kayseri, stating, "The Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway will serve as a bridge between road corridors providing interregional access. The project, which will connect 42 provinces, will significantly reduce the traffic load on the existing Ankara-Kırıkkale State Road."
"WILL FORM THE FIRST LINK OF HIGHWAY PROJECTS EXTENDING TO THE IRANIAN BORDER" Emphasizing that the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Highway is not just a regional transportation investment, Uraloglu stated, "With this project, freight and passenger transportation will be delivered faster, safer, and more comfortably from Ankara's eastern and northern corridors to Middle Eastern and Caucasian countries. At the same time, our highway will form the first link of highway projects planned to be implemented in the coming years, extending to Samsun and the Iranian border."
"WORK CONTINUES ON ALL 4 TUNNELS" Stating that the highway, designed with a total length of 120 kilometers, consists of 101 kilometers of main body and 19 kilometers of connection roads, Uraloglu stated that the project includes 7 junctions, 4 tunnels, 8 viaducts, 22 junction bridges, 17 overpass bridges, and 63 underpasses. Uraloglu announced that 33 million cubic meters of the total 71.2 million cubic meters of excavation work and 27 million cubic meters of the 54.2 million cubic meters of fill work have been completed. Minister Uraloglu said, "We have completed nearly half of the excavation and fill work on our 120-kilometer highway. We have completed 172 culverts and 42 underpasses in structures, and we are continuing work on 27 culverts and 13 underpasses." Stating that work continues on all 4 tunnels, Uraloglu reported that a total of 4,571 meters of tunnel excavation has been completed to date. Expressing that work continues on all 8 viaducts, Uraloglu noted that the production rate has reached 98 percent in some viaducts.
"TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN ANKARA AND KIRIKKALE WILL DROP TO 43 MINUTES" Uraloglu stated that with the completion of the highway, the travel time on the existing route, which currently takes 80 minutes, will decrease to 43 minutes, saying, "Thanks to the project, we will achieve total savings of 6.8 billion lira annually, including 6 billion lira from time and 800 million lira from fuel. Additionally, we will reduce carbon emissions by 40 thousand tons per year."
