The issue of verified content on social media is back on the agenda with statements from Meta's founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. In his statement, Zuckerberg said, "Fact-checkers have their own biases, and they are excessively controlling the content. Therefore, we will make changes. The approach has gone too far and has censored too much content. They have also made too many mistakes." RESPONSE TO TEYITORG FROM A MEMBER OF THE AK PARTYAK Party Deputy Chairman of Promotion and Media Ömer Arvas recalled that they had warned Meta several times about this issue. Emphasizing that verification sites are not impartial, Arvas stated that @teyitorg makes decisions based on an ideological perspective. Arvas continued his statements as follows: We have been complaining to Turkish and American officials of Meta for many years with concrete documents on this matter. We have repeatedly pointed out that @teyitorg has made biased and ideological interventions. Despite the fact that it is evident how radical the managers of these verification platforms are ideologically, they have never gone beyond saying things like "we cannot intervene in verification platforms, they are companies that meet international conditions." "THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE MORE THAN A ORDINARY TROLL PAGE"Especially on Facebook, they have seen it as their right to label the pages they want as 'fake news' and restrict their visibility, using this authority like a club against everyone. After years of numerous operational interventions, I find it a correct step that they will now receive the treatment they deserve, being nothing more than an ordinary troll page.
