The driver of the CHP bus, Gökhan Gülyurt, who did not comply with the police's 'stop' warning in Ankara and is facing up to 13 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of 'resisting the performance of duty', will appear before a judge on October 6.
An investigation was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding Gökhan Gülyurt for not complying with the police's 'stop' warning on April 23.
RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL MEASURES
Gökhan Gülyurt was summoned to give a statement as part of the investigation. After his statement, Gökhan Gülyurt was referred to the duty magistrate, and he was released under judicial control measures, including a travel ban abroad and a restriction on leaving his residence, for the crime of 'resisting a public officer in a chain manner.'
UP TO 13 YEARS IN PRISON PENALTY SOUGHT
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against Gülyurt. The prosecution requested that Gökhan Gülyurt be punished with imprisonment of up to 13 years and 6 months for the crime of 'resisting the performance of duty' in a chain manner. The Ankara 72nd Criminal Court of First Instance has completed its review of the indictment prepared against Gülyurt. The indictment was accepted, and the first hearing will be held on October 6.
