Fenerbahçe denied the statements made by Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım regarding the referees and the stands. Yıldırım's words, "If we didn't have a European match, we would have passed through Fenerbahçe," also escalated the discussions.
Fenerbahçe responded harshly from its official account to the statements made by Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım after the match. The yellow-navy club stated that the claims made by Yıldırım do not reflect the truth.
"THE CLAIMS ARE COMPLETELY UNTRUE"
Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım stated in his post-match remarks that he had heard that Fenerbahçe players had grabbed the referee by the throat during halftime. Fenerbahçe denied these words, stating that the claims of any physical intervention by the players towards the referee are completely untrue.
The statement from the club emphasized that voicing such baseless accusations in public is an irresponsible approach.
SARAN WENT TO CALM THE SITUATION
The statement also expressed that Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran went to the relevant area to try to calm the atmosphere in order to prevent the tension in the stands from escalating. It was noted that Saran's presence there was not intended to support any individual, but rather he acted with a sense of responsibility to prevent the situation from escalating.
