The U.S. Central Command announced that Muhammad Salah El-Za'bir, a senior member of the Al-Qaeda-linked group Hurras al-Din, was killed in an airstrike conducted in Syria.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it conducted an airstrike in northwestern Syria yesterday. In a statement by CENTCOM, it was noted that a senior member of the Al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Din (HaD) organization, Muhammad Salah al-Za'bir, was killed in the airstrike.
"THE STRIKES AIM TO DISRUPT TERRORIST ACTIVITIES"
The statement said, "The airstrike is part of CENTCOM's ongoing commitment, in conjunction with its partners in the region, to disrupt and degrade the efforts of terrorists to plan and execute attacks against civilians and military personnel in the U.S., our allies, and partners in the region and beyond."
"STRIKES WILL CONTINUE"
CENTCOM Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla also stated, "CENTCOM will continue to neutralize or capture terrorists and defend our homeland against groups planning attacks on U.S. and allied personnel."
