According to the latest assessments from the General Directorate of Meteorology, snowfall is expected in many provinces, especially in Istanbul.

WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

According to the latest evaluations, it is predicted that the western parts of the country will be partly very cloudy, with heavy rain expected in the coastal areas of the Aegean after noon, while other areas will be partly and slightly cloudy. In the inner and eastern regions, frost and freezing are expected, along with fog and mist in the Marmara and inner and eastern regions. There is an avalanche risk in the high areas of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia. According to the forecasts obtained from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the air temperature is expected to be above seasonal norms, and the wind is expected to blow lightly, occasionally moderately, generally from southern directions, and from northern directions in the southeastern parts of the country.

THE WEATHER IS STARTING TO COOL DOWN

According to the latest evaluations from Meteorology, snowfall will be seen in many regions of the country, especially in Istanbul. In the warnings made, it was emphasized that citizens should take precautions in advance for the cold and rainy weather that will last for 5-6 days.

According to the latest forecasts, air temperatures are expected to drop within the next 10 days, and snowfall is expected in the Marmara Region, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and a large part of Eastern Anatolia.

SNOW IS COMING IN THE FIRST DAYS OF FEBRUARY

Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen also made the following statements regarding the expected cold wave:

"For a while, a false spring has been observed in the western regions of the country until the end of this week. In fact, it will continue until the beginning of next week. Snowfall will start again in Turkey. Winter conditions will return. Snow is expected in the east of Istanbul.

COLD WEATHER WILL BE EFFECTIVE UNTIL FEBRUARY 11

"On February 5, and even on February 7, another cold wave will come one after the other. Cold weather will be effective until the 11th of the month. Along with Istanbul, the eastern Marmara, the entire Black Sea region, Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Mediterranean Region, the north of the Southeastern Anatolia Region, and Eastern Anatolia will see snowfall. Snowfall may be intense in some regions, so care should be taken. The cold weather entry, which will start around the 4th or 5th of next week, will continue until the 10th or 11th."

SNOW ALERT FOR ISTANBUL ON FEBRUARY 6-7

On the other hand, according to the weather map of Meteorology, a snow alert has been issued for Istanbul between February 6-7. Rain will enter the country from the west on Monday and Tuesday.
