In the early hours of the morning in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, a 31-year-old market vendor, Murat Yeşilay, was attacked from behind by a person wielding a screwdriver while sitting in front of his shop. Yeşilay, who was struck multiple times on the head, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The chilling moment of the attack was captured by security cameras.

BOUGHT WATER AND THEN ATTACKED

According to the news from Ekol TV's Eren Coşkundili, the incident occurred at a market run by two brothers. The suspect first bought water from the market and, after paying, went outside and sat in front of the market. After a while, he stood up and attacked Yeşilay from behind with the screwdriver in his hand. During the attack, he injured Yeşilay multiple times on the head.

"HUMAN LIFE SHOULD NOT BE THIS CHEAP"

Describing the terrifying moments he experienced, Murat Yeşilay said, "I saw the man for the first time. Suddenly, I felt several blows to my head. I could have died, I could have had a brain hemorrhage. Human life should not be this cheap," expressing the horror he went through.

ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED TWO WOMEN BEFORE

Yeşilay claimed that the attacker had assaulted two other women before the incident and stated that the suspect might be someone who was either intoxicated or mentally unstable. The victim, saying, "He was attacking left and right, he was not in his right mind," noted that the assailant's freedom to roam the streets posed a serious threat.

LOCAL RESIDENTS ARE OUTRAGED: WHAT IF IT HAPPENED TO MY SON?

One of the local residents who witnessed the incident reacted by saying, "I put myself in his place, in my son's place. Someone like that should not be walking around freely on the street." It was reported that efforts are underway to capture the attacker.
