The military cooperation agreement signed between the USA and the Greek Cypriot Administration has brought about a new debate.
STARTED EDUCATION PROGRAM
According to a report by Yaşar Anter from Sözcü Newspaper, while the USA has ended its military training support to terrorist groups considered extensions of the PKK in Syria, it has launched a comprehensive training program for the Greek Cypriot National Guard. The Washington administration provides military training, exercises, and technical support to Greek soldiers both on the island and in the USA.
PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES AT MILITARY BASES
Within the framework of the agreement, American military experts are providing training to Greek soldiers on counter-terrorism, urban operation techniques, special operations applications, and crisis management.
