A snowplow that was clearing snow in the Çaldıran district of Van overturned. In the accident, the driver Erkan Uzun and his assistant Özgür Yıldız lost their lives. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
During road opening work at the Tendürek Pass, which is 2,644 meters above sea level in the Çaldıran district of Van, a snowplow belonging to the Highways Authority overturned. In the accident, 2 people in the vehicle lost their lives. The accident occurred near the Soğuksu neighborhood at the Tendürek Pass on the Çaldıran-Doğubayazıt highway. Following the heavy snowfall in the region, the snowplow belonging to the 115th Erciş Branch of the 11th Regional Directorate of Highways, which was conducting cleaning work on the highway, crashed into the median and overturned.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING THE ACCIDENT
Upon notification, ambulances, gendarmerie, police, and teams from the Çaldıran Fire Department were dispatched to the area. During the inspection by the teams, it was determined that the driver Erkan Uzun (44) and his assistant Özgür Yıldız (48) had lost their lives. The 2 individuals extracted from the vehicle were taken to the hospital morgue.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
