The Ministry of Family and Social Services found social media posts that present photos of children, disabled individuals, and the elderly as "adoption announcements" to be contrary to human dignity and initiated a legal process for access restriction by filing a criminal complaint regarding the content.
The Ministry of Family and Social Services has filed a criminal complaint regarding social media posts by a civil society organization that used photos of children, disabled individuals, and the elderly in the format of "adoption announcements" under the pretext of raising awareness for animal rights.
"AN UNACCEPTABLE LANGUAGE THAT OBJECTIFIES PEOPLE"
In a statement from the ministry, it was emphasized that the content in question explicitly targets children, the disabled, and the elderly, and sharing photos with phrases like "fully vaccinated" undermines human dignity. The statement expressed that these posts contain a degrading and unacceptable approach that reduces people to mere objects.
"THE CLAIM OF AWARENESS CANNOT JUSTIFY VIOLATION OF RIGHTS"
The ministry stated that the claim of creating social awareness cannot justify the violation of the personality rights of children, the disabled, and the elderly, and pointed out that such content normalizes an inhumane language.
PROCESS OF REMOVING CONTENT AND ACCESS BLOCKAGE
The statement noted that a criminal complaint was filed immediately after the mentioned posts circulated again on social media, and the necessary legal process for removing the content and blocking access has been initiated. The ministry emphasized that no approach targeting the dignity of children, the disabled, and the elderly will go unchallenged.
