The 14-point agreement reached between the US and Iran has officially entered into force. In the photo shared after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's signature, it was revealed that US President Donald Trump's signature was also clearly visible. Previously, the White House had released footage showing Trump signing the agreement during a dinner with Emmanuel Macron at the G7 Summit in France. The historic agreement, which envisions ending the war, became official with the signatures of the two leaders.
A new development has occurred regarding the 14-point memorandum of understanding between the USA and Iran, which envisions an end to the war. While it was announced that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed the memorandum, it was revealed that the published document clearly shows the signature of US President Donald Trump.
The memorandum of understanding, reached after days of diplomatic contacts between the USA and Iran, was officially signed by the leaders of both countries. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghai announced that the memorandum text was signed by both Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump and has entered into force.
TRUMP'S SIGNATURE CLEARLY SEEN ON DOCUMENT
In the document shared by Iran, Donald Trump's signature was visible. Thus, the signing process previously announced by the White House was once again confirmed.
The White House had announced that Trump signed the memorandum while in France for the G7 Leaders' Summit. In fact, footage of the moments when the US President signed the agreement during a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles was shared with the public.
MACRON: A CORRECT AND IMPORTANT STEP
French President Emmanuel Macron also shared these images, stating that Trump signed the agreement reached between Iran and the USA in Versailles.
In his statement, Macron described the agreement as a "correct and important step," expressing that it would pave the way for lasting peace, ensure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and contribute to lowering energy prices.
NO SIGNING CEREMONY IN SWITZERLAND
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghai stated that the memorandum was signed digitally and announced that no separate signing ceremony would be held in Switzerland.
Baghai highlighted the importance of the agreement being signed directly by the heads of state of the two countries, noting that this would increase the cost of violating the memorandum.
14-POINT MEMORANDUM IN EFFECT
The 14-point memorandum in force between the parties includes critical topics such as ending the war, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the US lifting its naval blockade against Iran, Iran not developing nuclear weapons, lifting sanctions, and releasing frozen Iranian assets.
The memorandum also stipulates that the parties will begin a 60-day negotiation process for a final agreement. During this process, nuclear activities, lifting of sanctions, and regional security issues will be addressed.
STATEMENT ALSO CAME FROM PAKISTAN
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had also previously stated in a statement that the text, called the "Islamabad Agreement," was signed electronically by the leaders of the two countries.
Sharif announced that with the agreement entering into force, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and the US would lift its naval blockade.
