The Super Lig team Samsunspor officially requested the Turkish Football Federation to have foreign referees officiate their critical matches. The club asked for the matches against Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor to be officiated by foreign referees.

The statement reminded that Samsunspor is in third place in the league, saying, "The foreign referee Slavko Vincic, who was appointed to the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe match played on February 24, 2025, has demonstrated exemplary performance with his fair and consistent management. In this regard, we congratulate our Federation by stating that we welcome the decision to appoint a foreign referee for the relevant match.
