A terrible accident in Avcılar! A minibus ran over a 4-year-old child.

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon on G-725 Street in Yeşilkent Neighborhood. Mother Halime İnce was returning from grocery shopping with her son Seyfican İnce and her nephew. 4-year-old Seyfican İnce was riding his bicycle next to his mother. While they were trying to cross the sidewalk, mother İnce held her nephew's hand. At the same moment, Seyfican İnce, who was a little behind his mother on his bicycle, was hit by a service minibus with the license plate 34 LGC 139, which was maneuvering on the street. The minibus driver, Fevzi Çağlar, did not see the child until the last moment. The mother screamed and pulled her child from under the tire. The minibus driver and bystanders also got out to try to help. The mother took her child, whom she was holding, to the hospital in a nearby car. At the hospital, it was determined that Seyfican İnce had lost his life. The minibus driver was taken into custody. After the procedures at the police station were completed, the service driver was sent to Küçükçekmece Courthouse this morning.

'LITTLE CHILD WAS RUN OVER BY A CAR ON A BICYCLE'

Nurettin Karakoç, who witnessed the accident, stated that there are constant accidents at this intersection, saying, "Unfortunately, this time a life was lost. A little child was run over by a car while riding a bicycle. The car was coming up from here and turned back. While turning, the child was riding his bicycle behind his mother on the right side. The little child was taken under the minibus. In fact, the bicycle is currently in my shop. We put it in our friend's car; he was dead when he was taken to the hospital," he said.

"THE DRIVER IS NEGLIGENT"

Uncle Mustafa İnce said, "May God not let anyone experience this. The service vehicle does not see the child on the left while maneuvering. The child gets run over. The mother is holding her little nephew's hand next to her. She cannot hold Seyfican because he is on a bicycle, and he tragically gets caught under the tire. There is negligence on the part of the service driver in this incident. We have filed a complaint, and we have also taken the driver to court. We went to the police station; the driver is in custody," he said.
