Following the attack, missiles were fired from Iran towards Israel and US bases.
SMOKE RISES FROM US BASE IN BAHRAIN
AFP reported that explosion sounds were heard from Manama, the capital of Bahrain. In a report based on eyewitness accounts from Reuters, it was noted that smoke was rising from the US naval base in Bahrain. While Bahrain confirmed that an attack occurred on its territory, the first images from the region showed smoke rising.
IRAN IS STRIKING US MILITARY BASES
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are carrying out simultaneous attacks on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Explosion sounds were also heard in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The French news agency AFP reported that sirens were heard near the US base in Qatar, while an eyewitness speaking to Reuters noted that a loud explosion was heard in Abu Dhabi.
In the first official statement from Qatar, it was stated that all missiles targeting the country were intercepted.
