A three-story building collapsed in Fatih! First statement from the governorship.

A three-story abandoned building collapsed in Fatih, Istanbul. Upon notification, numerous fire and medical teams were dispatched. A person who was passing by at the time of the collapse was rescued and taken to the hospital. The teams are continuing their work in the building, which is estimated to be empty. Search and rescue dogs are searching in the debris.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP

Following the collapse in the building, a statement was made by the Istanbul Governorship. The statement said; On Thursday, September 12, 2024, at around 23:10, a three-story abandoned building collapsed in Zeyrek Neighborhood, Fatih District. In the incident, 1 citizen who was passing by was slightly injured. According to initial determinations, there is no person trapped under the empty building, but the teams continue their work at the scene," the statement said.
