In the carbon monoxide tragedy that occurred in Bağcılar, three people lost their lives, leaving behind a grieving family. As the three victims were laid to rest, the cries of their relatives at the funeral shattered hearts, and tears flowed abundantly. The silently arriving death plunged the neighborhood and their loved ones into mourning.
Abdulaziz Malay (71), Fatema Jabara (44), and Zehra Malay (7), who lost their lives in a carbon monoxide tragedy on the top floor of a five-story building in Bağcılar, were bid farewell to their final journey in tears. The cries of family members struggling to stand during the funeral ceremony broke hearts.
TEARS TURNED INTO A FLOOD
After the autopsy procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institution, the bodies delivered to the family were brought to the Bağcılar Demirkapı Bediüzzaman Said Nursi Mosque. During the funeral prayer held after the afternoon prayer, family members who lost their loved ones experienced nervous breakdowns. Relatives weeping at little Zehra's coffin were consoled by those around them.
Bağcılar District Governor Abdullah Uçgun, Bağcılar Mayor Yasin Yıldız, family members, and many neighbors attended the funeral ceremony. After the prayers, Abdulaziz Malay, Fatema Jabara, and Zehra Malay were laid to rest at Habibler Yayla Cemetery.
RELATIVES HADN'T HEARD FROM THEM FOR DAYS
The incident occurred on 1723rd Street in the Demirkapı neighborhood around 00:35. After relatives who had not heard from the family for a while called the 112 Emergency Call Center, police, health, and fire teams were dispatched to the address. When the door was not opened, the fire teams entered the apartment from the balcony.
FOOD FOUND ON THE STOVE
When the teams entered the apartment, they encountered a strong odor. While food was seen in a pot on the stove, checks revealed that Fatema Jabara was found in the bedroom, Zehra Malay in the living room, and Abdulaziz Malay and Gülbahar Malay were found lying motionless in different parts of the house.
In the examination conducted by the health teams, it was determined that Abdulaziz Malay, Fatema Jabara, and Zehra Malay had lost their lives, while Gülbahar Malay was seriously injured.
MOTHER IN INTENSIVE CARE, CONDITION SERIOUS
While Gülbahar Malay, who was seriously injured in the incident, continues her treatment in the hospital, it was learned that her health condition remains serious. Relatives of the family prayed for both the three people they lost and for Gülbahar Malay, who is fighting for her life in intensive care.
While the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning is being considered regarding the incident, the investigation initiated by the authorities is ongoing.
