The accident occurred in front of the TIR garage in the Esentepe neighborhood of Vezirköprü district. It was claimed that a truck carrying fertilizer from Çorum could not stop due to a malfunction in its braking system starting from the Kızılcaören area and traveled uncontrollably for about 5 kilometers. The truck collided with a minibus carrying students that had stopped at the traffic lights at the entrance of the district, and then with a truck belonging to the Regional Directorate of Highways with the license plate 55 BD 985, as well as a passenger minibus with the license plate 55 M 9009 that was found to be empty.

As a result of the collision, the service minibus with the license plate 55 PG 391, which was taking students from Bahçekonak neighborhood to school, fell into the garden of a site approximately 4 meters high by the roadside. The truck then stopped after colliding with a TIR with the license plate 57 ABR 291. A total of 19 people were injured in the accident, including 10 students. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. The 19 injured individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulances. An investigation has been initiated.
