A woman who went for a job interview in Beşiktaş was attacked with a knife and fists by a gym operator and boxing coach. The woman, who was seriously injured in the attack, is still in critical condition, while the suspect has been detained.
Yesterday afternoon, a dispute broke out between 36-year-old Sibel M., who left her home in the Ulus neighborhood for a job interview in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, and Furkan K., who operates a gym in her neighborhood and is also known to be a boxing coach, for reasons yet unknown.
KNIFE AND PUNCH ATTACK FROM THE BOXING COACH TO THE WOMAN GOING FOR A JOB INTERVIEW
After the argument, Furkan K. allegedly injured Sibel M. with a knife he had on him. While Sibel M. collapsed to the ground, Furkan K. continued to attack her with punches. Neighbors and bystanders rushed to help the woman's cries for help. Upon seeing the neighbors coming to assist, Furkan K. fled the scene.
HER LIFE IS IN DANGER
Health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon citizens' reports. After the first intervention by the health teams that arrived at the scene, Sibel M. was transferred to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that Sibel M.'s life is still in danger. Meanwhile, it was reported that the suspect, who was quickly caught by the police, is undergoing processing at the police station.
"I KNOW THE PERSON WHO STABBED MY SISTER"
Sibel M.'s sister, Berivan M., who is fighting for her life in intensive care, described the knife and punch attack on her sister with the following words: "My sister had a job interview at 2:00 PM. While she was leaving the house dressed in her suit to go there, the person blocked her path and stabbed her three times. As if that wasn't enough, he is also a boxer, and he continued to punch my sister, who was on the ground. When neighbors rushed to my sister's screams, he got scared and quickly ran away. I know the person who stabbed my sister. He has a gym in our neighborhood. He was drinking alcohol in front of the gym with his friends. They were talking loudly. We were already disturbed because the inside of our house was visible. We expressed our discomfort and complained.
"THEY HAD ALREADY BLOCKED MY SISTER'S PATH BEFORE"
They had already blocked my sister's path before. When I went downstairs, the fiancé of the person who stabbed my sister had broken her finger. I took my sister upstairs. I had stopped the first incident this way. Later, we went to the police station and filed a complaint. A restraining order was issued against him. This incident fell through before it turned into a case. After a few months, it was closed because he didn't have a license. It was a two-story gym. The upper floor was a pilates studio run by his fiancée. The lower floor was the boxing gym operated by the man. Both were closed and sealed because they didn't have licenses. The day after it was sealed, this incident happened while my sister was going for a job interview.
"MY SISTER WAS ALREADY A MEMBER OF THAT GYM WHEN IT FIRST OPENED"
She is currently in intensive care; the blow she received to her abdomen has cut her stomach, and they have stitched it. Her life is in danger right now. I want him to be punished; there is a witness who witnessed the moments she was stabbed, and their statement has been taken. While he continued to hit her on the head, all the neighbors came out to her cries for help. My sister was already a member of that gym when it first opened. Later, she decided to leave that gym because she was disturbed. After that, she registered at another gym in our neighborhood. Their communication is only from there. There was also a friendship, but after these disturbances were expressed, these incidents happened. They said, 'We can drink at any time, do whatever we want, and talk loudly,' and then these incidents happened, and these things occurred."
