A woman who crossed to an islet in the river to sightsee in the Manavgat district of Antalya was stranded when the waters suddenly rose. The unfortunate woman, rescued by fire department teams, expressed her embarrassment to the teams, saying, "I am very sorry, I didn't know it would be like this."
WATER LEVEL ROSE SUDDENLY
The incident occurred yesterday evening in the Manavgat Waterfall area. According to the information obtained, a woman named B.G., who had gone to tour the Manavgat River, walked across to the islet that appeared in the river when the water level was low. However, after a while, the water level in the river rose rapidly. When the woman stranded on the islet could not return to the shore, citizens and officials in the area noticed the situation.
FIRE DEPARTMENT INTERVENED WITH A BOAT
Upon the notice, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams and gendarmerie were dispatched to the region. Arriving at the scene in a short time, the fire department teams reached the islet with the help of a boat and safely brought the stranded B.G. to the shore.
"I AM VERY SORRY, I DIDN'T KNOW"
B.G., thanking the teams with the relief of being rescued, told the gendarmerie and fire department personnel repeatedly with embarrassment, "I am very sorry, I didn't know it would be like this."
B.G., taken to a safe area, was taken to the Sarilar Gendarmerie Station to give her statement. It was learned that an administrative process was initiated against B.G. regarding the incident.
