After a sudden downpour in the Görele district of Giresun, the Zıva Stream rose, and mother Zekiye Kırca and her daughters Burcu and Burçin Kırca lost their lives while trying to save their father, who had been swept away by the flood. Father Mehmet Kırca managed to reach the shore on his own, while the lifeless bodies of the mother and her daughters were found. The grieving father, by the streamside, broke hearts with his words: 'They came yesterday and left today; they hadn't come for 20 years. Zekiye, you gathered the children and left, leaving me alone.'
Sudden heavy rainfall in the Sis Mountain region of Görele district in Giresun caused floods and water overflows. Due to the rain, the water level in Zıva Creek rose rapidly. At that moment, the Kırca family, who were having a picnic by the creek, were suddenly trapped in the middle of the rising floodwaters.
WHILE TRYING TO SAVE THEIR FATHER...
At the moment of the incident, father Mehmet Kırca was first swept away by the floodwaters. His wife Zekiye Kırca (55) and their daughters Burcu and Burçin Kırca made a move to save their father. While father Mehmet Kırca managed to get out of the water with his own efforts, the mother and two daughters who tried to save him disappeared and were swept away by the floodwaters.
THEIR LIFELESS BODIES WERE FOUND AT THE POINT WHERE THE CREEK FLOWS INTO THE SEA
Upon the notification, a search and rescue team of approximately 80 people, consisting of AFAD, gendarmerie, and villagers, was dispatched to the area. As a result of intense efforts carried out both from the air and on land, the lifeless body of one of the sisters, Burcu Kırca, was first reached.
As the teams continued their search efforts, the lifeless body of the other sister, Burçin Kırca, was found at a distance of approximately 25 kilometers from where she fell into the creek, on the Görele Çavuşlu coast where Zıva Creek flows into the sea. In the tragic incident where their mother Zekiye Kırca also lost her life, the entire family was plunged into mourning.
HEARTBREAKING CRIES: THEY HADN'T COME FOR 20 YEARS...
The cries of the grieving father, Mehmet Kırca, who burst into tears by the creek where the search efforts were carried out, deeply saddened everyone. Shedding tears for his wife and children, the father expressed his pain with these words: "What can I do... My daughters came to see my home, they came yesterday and left today. They hadn't come for 20 years because there was no house. Zekiye, you gathered your children and left, leaving me alone. My daughter Burçin, I had built you a house. You used to say, 'Your house is beautiful, I will stay here'..."
