Fenerbahçe is preparing for an important change in its goalkeeper rotation. The yellow-navy blue team does not want to use a foreign quota on a goalkeeper in case Ederson leaves the team. It was stated that the management has identified its former player Berke Özer as the first candidate and has made initial contacts for the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
Following Romelu Lukaku's transfer, there is no area left in Fenerbahce that requires urgent reinforcement. The management will shape future transfer moves based on players who will leave the team.
Ederson is at the top of the list of names with a possibility of departure. The Brazilian goalkeeper has not yet played this season. Ederson was last left out of the squad for the Sturm Graz away match, citing illness.
JUVENTUS POSSIBILITY STRENGTHENS
It was stated that Ederson's agent, Jorge Mendes, continues to search for a club for his player, with Juventus being the most serious candidate. It was noted that because Parma's goalkeeper Suzuki, who is on Juventus's agenda, is on the verge of agreeing with PSG, the likelihood of the Italian team making a move for Ederson has increased.
BERKE OZER TO REPLACE EDERSON
The Fenerbahce management plans to transfer a domestic player to the goal if Ederson leaves, due to the issue experienced with the foreign player quota. The first candidate determined by the Yellow-Navy blues in this direction was Berke Ozer. It was stated that initial attempts have begun for the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
CAREER EXTENDING FROM FENERBAHCE TO EUROPE
Berke Ozer transferred to Fenerbahce in 2018. The goalkeeper, who played on loan at Westerlo between 2019-2021, moved to Portimonense in 2022. After transferring to Eyupspor in January 2023, Berke was loaned to Umraniyespor. Following his successful performance at Eyupspor, he signed for Lille last summer for 4.5 million Euros.
20 PERCENT OF HIS TRANSFER FEE REMAINS WITH FENERBAHCE
Fenerbahce had the right to receive a 40 percent share from Berke Ozer's transfer. Following the agreement between the clubs, 20 percent of his transfer fee at Lille remained with the Yellow-Navy blues.
While the Fenerbahce management has made its initial attempts for Berke Ozer, it has not yet started official negotiations with Lille. It was stated that if Ederson's departure materializes, official transfer talks with the French team will begin.
