As the repercussions of the simultaneous operation in 17 provinces, during which 30 people including Alihan Kuris, the leader of the "Süleymancılar" group, were detained, continue, the group's massive center built in Germany for 70 million euros (approximately 4 billion 125 million Turkish liras) has come under scrutiny. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that the organization planned to move all its activities to this center once the building was completed.

In simultaneous operations conducted in 17 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya, a total of 30 suspects, along with organization leader Alihan Kuris, were detained. Security forces' efforts to capture the other suspects continue unabated.

NEW HEADQUARTERS WORTH 4 BILLION LIRAS IN COLOGNE

As the financial aspect of the investigation deepens, the group's new center being built in Cologne, Germany, has come to the forefront. The facility, designed as the main coordination point where European activities will be managed from a single location, draws attention with its massive budget.

The features of the structure, built on an area of approximately 17,000 square meters (17 decares) at a cost of 70 million euros, are as follows:

  • 3 main sections: administration, mosque, and dormitory
  • A dormitory with accommodation capacity for 231 people
  • An area where 881 people can worship simultaneously
  • A wedding hall for 400 people and various commercial areas
  • A parking area for 172 vehicles

ALLEGATION OF SUPPORT FROM THE GERMAN STATE

While investigating the sources financing this project, one of the largest investments in Europe, a striking claim has been put forward. It is alleged that the Cologne Municipality and the German state directly supported the group in the construction of this giant structure worth millions of euros.

INTERIOR MINISTER CIFTCI: THEY WERE GOING TO MOVE ALL ACTIVITIES THERE

Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci, who participated in NTV's live broadcast to evaluate the details of the operation and the strategic importance of the center in Germany, emphasized that the target was the organization's financial foundations.

Minister Ciftci's statement is as follows:

"This was an operation we had been working on for a long time. Last night, I discussed and evaluated this issue with our Minister of Justice. And this morning, the button was pressed for the operation. Alihan Kuris took over the leadership of this movement in 2016. With his takeover, activities began to be carried out in greater secrecy. They are building a large center in Cologne, Germany. We assess that when this building is completed, all their activities will be moved there. Therefore, this is an operation targeting the organization's financial foundations."
