A young man, a father of three children, lost his life after being struck by a piece of iron that fell from a tower in an oil field in Diyarbakır.

Çetin Çakır (48), a father of three, lost his life after a piece of iron that fell from a tower in the oil field in Diyarbakır struck him. The incident occurred yesterday around 20:00 at the Kurkan oil field on the Ergani highway. During the rope fastening process, a piece of iron that broke off from the tower hit worker Çetin Çakır in the chest. Health teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. After the first intervention, Çakır was taken to the ambulance and passed away on the way to the hospital.

AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT IS UNDERWAY

The funeral of Çetin Çakır, who was married and a father of three, was buried in the rural Küçükakören neighborhood in the morning after the autopsy procedures. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
