At the event held at the Konya Olympic Velodrome, Australia's Matthew Richardson, representing England, broke the world record in the 200 metre sprint with a time of 8.941 seconds.



THE PREVIOUS RECORD BELONGED TO LAVREYSEN



This record was previously held by Dutch cyclist Harrie Lavreysen with a time of 9.088 seconds. Meanwhile, British cyclist Charlie Tanfield, who attempted to break the world one-hour record of 56.792 kilometres held by Italian cyclist Filippo Ganna, remained at 53.967 kilometres.
