THE FIGHT STARTED OVER A RIGHT OF WAY ISSUE
The incident occurred last Sunday night on Adnan Yüksel Street in the Etlik neighborhood. Hakan Çakır, who runs a raw meatball shop, was involved in a dispute with Taha Z. (14) and Samet Z. (17), who were sitting on the stairs, over a right of way issue as his mother and sister were returning home from the shop.
STABBED TO DEATH
When other relatives from both sides arrived, the argument escalated into a fight. During the fight, Hakan Çakır, his brother Hakkı Can Çakır, and their father Şahin Çakır were stabbed. Hakan Çakır lost his life, while the injured father and son were taken to the hospital. Taha Z. and Samet Z., along with their brother Emir Z. (19) and their father Cemal Z. (45), as well as U.K., were detained. Among the suspects sent to court, the father and three sons were arrested, while U.K. was released. It was observed that the three arrested brothers shared photos on social media posing with long-barreled guns, pistols, swords, and knives.
"HE INSULTED, HE HARASSED"
The funeral of Hakan Çakır, who was buried in Karşıyaka Cemetery, was attended by his mother Sevender Özkan Çakır, who said, "We were coming home from the shop with my daughter. We were about to go down the stairs. My daughter asked for the way. One of them started to insult and harass us. We were scared, my daughter and I panicked. When the boy started to talk, I said they would come from behind and kill us. We called Hakan. Hakan came. He said, 'What's up, brother?' The first blow was struck at my son. When he hit, he hit back. Then they all gathered in front of the muhtarlık (village head's office). I stretched my arm to protect Hakan, and he hit me. The kids were on top of my son in front of the muhtarlık. My baby died there," she said.
Ali D. also claimed that two brothers sitting on the stairs harassed Hakan Çakır's mother and sister as they were going home. Ali D. said, "They were also shouting and asking for help. When Hakan came, they scattered and ran away. Then they regrouped and stormed the shop with knives. They stabbed his brother, him, and their father and fled. When they have a fight, they suddenly multiply, come together, organize, and are the same kids who previously cut off someone's ear during a live broadcast and shot guns in the neighborhood. They already have pictures on social media. They have pictures with long-barreled guns, knives, and weapons as tall as they are. They are a group that can record and share the bad things they do. They have no fear. We have already encountered such incidents before," he said.
