The rates and calculations being discussed behind the scenes for the 2027 minimum wage increase, which millions of employees are focused on, have emerged. According to scenarios of a 25 to 30 percent increase and the Medium-Term Program (OVP) forecast, the net minimum wage is expected to rise to between 35,000 TL and 36,500 TL.
With months to go until the new year, millions of employees, retirees, and civil servants have turned their attention to the salary increase rates to be applied in 2027. Ahead of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which will meet in December, calculations based on inflation expectations, Medium-Term Program (OVP) targets, and possible raise rates have begun to become clear.
According to data reported by Faruk Erdem of Sabah, for the minimum wage this year as well, considering the balance between realized and targeted inflation, an increase in the range of 25 to 30 percent is gaining weight.
3 RAISE SCENARIOS ON THE TABLE AND THE FIGURES
According to the possible raise scenarios expected to be discussed at the commission, the new minimum wage figures are shaping up as follows:
25 PERCENT: The gross minimum wage will rise from 33,030 TL to 41,287.50 TL, and the net minimum wage from 28,075.50 TL to 35,095 TL.
28.4 PERCENT OVP FORECAST: If the year-end inflation target in the Medium-Term Program is taken as a basis, the gross wage will rise to 38,559 TL, and the net minimum wage to 36,049 TL.
30 PERCENT RAISE SCENARIO: In the case of a 30 percent increase, the gross minimum wage will reach 42,939 TL, while the net minimum wage will approach the 36,500 TL level.
FIRST CLUES FOR RETIREE AND CIVIL SERVANT RAISES
In addition to the minimum wage, initial estimates based on 6-month inflation data for civil servant and retiree salaries have also become clear. For SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the 6-month inflation increase is expected to be in the 9-10 percent range.
For civil servants and retired civil servants, on the other hand, with the inflation difference to be added to the 5 percent collective bargaining raise, the total increase is expected to be around 7-8 percent. This rise in civil servant salaries will also directly push up social assistance payments and the severance pay ceiling amount.
