A mother and her daughter were not allowed into a Burger King restaurant in Tarabya, Istanbul, solely because of their poor economic situation. In a post on his social media account, Bekir Kaplan, Press Advisor to the Ministry of Trade, stated that it is unacceptable for any citizen to be subjected to discrimination based on economic status, appearance, or any other reason, and said, 'The issue is being followed by our Ministry of Trade.'

At the Burger King Tarabya branch, a mother and her daughter were denied entry to the restaurant solely because of their poor economic situation. This inhumane incident has left a deep wound in the public conscience, while the Ministry of Trade has launched an investigation into the matter.

It is unacceptable for any of our citizens to face discrimination based on their economic status, appearance, or any other reason. The matter is under the follow-up of our Ministry of Trade.
