The Yalova Governorship announced that a judicial and administrative process has been initiated for a 5-year-old child who was seriously injured in an attack by street dogs while going to the grocery store.
A written statement was made by the Yalova Governorship on March 18, 2025, regarding Khaled Hammo, who was attacked by dogs in the early hours of the morning.
JUDICIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS INITIATED
In the statement from the governorship, it was noted that a judicial and administrative process has been initiated regarding the incident. The statement said, "A judicial and administrative process has been initiated for our little child who was attacked by stray animals. Instructions have been given to municipalities in provinces and districts regarding the collection of stray animals, and to the Provincial Special Administration in villages, with a deadline set. It has been instructed to urgently start infrastructure works for the creation of natural habitats where the collected animals can be cared for in the best conditions and to establish feeding points in these areas.
In case of sightings of dangerous and aggressive animals, reports made by citizens to 112 will be promptly directed to the relevant institutions. Within the framework of the Animal Protection Law No. 5199, all duties and responsibilities regarding stray animals belong to municipalities in provinces and districts, and to the Provincial Special Administration in villages. Our governorship has informed all relevant institutions of their duties and will meticulously monitor the process in the field," it was stated.
TWO-YEAR-OLD RANA HAD LOST HER LIFE
In recent weeks, two-year-old Rana El Selci, a Syrian national, was attacked by dogs on March 7 in Şehit Erdal Özçelik Street in the Başak neighborhood of the Karatay district of Konya. Despite the intervention at Konya City Hospital, the injured baby could not be saved.
