In the Avcılar district of Istanbul, the landlord entered the apartment of a tenant who could not pay rent for 7 months because he was in prison, and threw the belongings in the house out onto the street.
HE OPENED THE DOOR WITH A LOCKSMITH, THREW WHATEVER HE FOUND OUTSIDE
The incident occurred in the Denizköşkler neighborhood. According to the allegations, the person living as a tenant on the ground floor of the 4-story building was arrested on charges of 'theft' and 'drug trafficking'. The landlord, claiming he had not received rent for 7 months, could not reach the relatives of his incarcerated tenant. On July 2, he had a locksmith open the door and moved the belongings from the apartment out onto the street.
MUNICIPAL TEAMS COLLECTED WITH A BACKHOE
While waste collectors took some of the items, the rest were scattered around the area. Upon this, municipal teams were notified. Teams arriving at the scene loaded the items onto a truck using a backhoe and cleaned the street.
POLICE HAD SEARCHED THE PLACE MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE
Fuat Öztürk, who lives in the same building, stated that the tenant had not caused them any harm but that police teams had come to the house many times, and that the landlord took the belongings out due to unpaid rent.
