After Positive Test, Besiktas Head Shows No Virus Signs

Istanbul team says Ahmet Nur Cebi, members of team's board showing no symptoms of virus.

Neither the chair of Turkish Super Lig team Besiktas nor its board members are showing any symptoms of coronavirus, the Istanbul powerhouse club announced Friday.

Besiktas said that although Ahmet Nur Cebi is showing no signs of infection following his May 14 positive test for the virus, the necessary follow-up and isolation process continues in line with Health Ministry guidelines.

After being suspended in March due to the virus outbreak, football leagues in Turkey are set to resume next month.

The top-tier Super Lig competitions will return on June 12.

As of Thursday, the overall count of virus cases in Turkey reached over 153,500

The vast majority of patients – almost 115,000 – have recovered, while 4,249 have died so far, according to the health minister. -
