After the YKS results, Çimen was welcomed with flowers by his 60-year-old father, Mehmet Emin Gülen, and has been accepted into the Translation Studies department at Yeditepe University with a 50% scholarship, becoming well-known throughout Turkey.
In Muş, 60-year-old Mehmet Emin Gülen's daughter Çimen, whom he greeted with flowers while running out of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), is experiencing the joy of being accepted into the Translation Studies department at Yeditepe University.
ÇİMEN, GREETED WITH FLOWERS BY HER FATHER, REALIZED HER DREAMS
Çimen Gülen learned the YKS results while working at a hotel in Didim, Aydın. She informed her father in Muş about the happy news over the phone. Gülen, who works as a waiter at the hotel, told reporters that she is working to support the family economy.
Stating that she has been accepted into the Translation Studies (English) department at Yeditepe University, Gülen said, "My father bought me flowers because I was very excited during the university exam. When my results were announced, I took him flowers. We had such a process; I had worked very hard. My university preference results were announced. I was accepted to Yeditepe University with a 50% scholarship. A businessman covered the rest. Since my financial situation did not allow it, the businessman helped me. I thank him very much from here."
HER GOAL IS TO GO TO THE USA
Gülen stated that she aims to go to a university in the USA that focuses on artificial intelligence after completing her first year at university, saying, "I took the first step in reaching my dreams. I am very happy. I cannot express my feelings."
"EVEN THOUGH WE ARE 5 GIRLS, MY FATHER TREATED US ALL AS IF WE WERE ONE"
Stating that her father has been very helpful to her, Gülen continued: "Since my childhood, my father has always treated us as if we were 'one' despite being 5 girls. This year, he proved it by buying flowers. Although he is someone who does this regularly, this year it was just visible to the cameras. He is sweeter than he appears. He is my constant supporter. Thanks to him, I am where I am today. Half of it is my effort, and half is my father's support... We were more like friends than just a father and daughter. I could tell him about any problem I had. I love my father very much."
