Davutoğlu stated, "Stop mocking the nation and deceiving the people with mathematics. Which inflation rate have you managed to achieve so far that you think you can achieve this one?"
Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu reacted strongly to the increase of the 2026 inflation target from 9.7% to 16% in the Medium-Term Program.

In a statement regarding the issue on X, Davutoğlu said, "Enough! Stop mocking the people, stop deceiving the people with mathematics! Need an example? Here are the latest civil servant salary increases! Just a month ago, the increases you determined according to your own inflation target were dictated to the civil servants by the Public Officials Arbitration Board after a token collective agreement.
"WHICH INFLATION RATE HAVE YOU ACHIEVED?"
Now you have revised the OVP and increased the 2026 inflation target from 9.7% to 16%. Moreover, you know that inflation will be well above 16% next year. Which inflation rate have you achieved so far that you think you can achieve this one!
"CONSIDER THE PEOPLE'S RIGHTS AND MAKE THEM SMILE"
If that's the case, why don't you also increase the salary increase rates you provided for 2026 in proportion to the inflation target you raised from 9.7% to 16% with a 60% deviation!
