"POLITICAL BANS MUST BE LIFTED" Stating that political bans overshadow the will of the citizens, Davutoğlu said, "I do not believe it is right for any politician's political life to end. Politics is a field of competition. İmamoğlu could be our rival one day. He was our rival in the past as well. Therefore, I think it is necessary to remove the concept of political bans from the literature if it is not for politicians but for all citizens. There used to be Articles 141-163. All right-wingers trembled at 163, and leftists trembled at 141. May God rest his soul, Özal came and lifted both. The nation took a breath. The right to vote and be elected is a human right. "TURKEY NEEDS A GREAT PURIFICATION" Emphasizing that Turkey needs reform, Davutoğlu said, "If I were in office right now, I would operate with the precision of a surgeon on the entire corruption system in Turkey. Let's come to the opposition. Let me say this. None of us are exempt from politics. We all have to account for our actions. That is why, when Mr. Erdoğan once insinuated that I was involved in corruption, I said, 'Let all my assets and wealth be investigated. The wealth of all politicians should be investigated. Former prime ministers, presidents, and ministers. And if there is unexplained property, it should be confiscated. I mean, my income is this, and this is what I have. There is a huge gap in between. How can a deputy, within four years, go from the salary of a deputy to billions, millions, or hundreds of millions? How can they afford villas? How can a bureaucrat ride in the most luxurious cars?" he said.
"I HAVE NEVER HAD A SECRET POLITICAL MEETING WITH ANYONE IN MY LIFE" Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu emphasized that he has never engaged in secret negotiations behind closed doors throughout his political life.
