AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Culture and Arts Policies Hüseyin Yayman gave striking messages in his evaluation on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his party's founding. Saying, 'AK Party's rival is AK Party itself,' Yayman argued that the opposition's agenda has turned into 'seat grabbing,' while stating that his party is focused on 2053 goals for the next 25 years. Yayman stated, 'It is time for us to propose a new dream, a new success story for the second 25 years.'
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Culture and Art Policies Hüseyin Yayman made evaluations on the occasion of his party's 25th anniversary. Arguing that the AK Party has brought about significant changes in many areas as well as politics in Turkey, Yayman said, “We are now at a time to propose a new contract, a new dream, and a new success story for the second 25 years. Our AK Party has started working for the 2053 targets as of today.”
“THE AK PARTY PRESENTS A GREAT SUCCESS STORY”
Yayman said that the AK Party changed the political paradigm in Turkey and brought a new norm to politics.
Reminding that President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in 2001, “Nothing will be the same as before,” Yayman stated that through the AK Party's uninterrupted rule, it has presented a success story rarely seen in Turkey, Europe, and even the world.
Stating that the AK Party was founded by the nation, Yayman said, “The AK Party is a great party, and our nation founded it, while our President hung its sign. Therefore, the AK Party has gone down in history as a party that realizes our nation's dreams.”
Yayman said his party looks to the future, not the past, and focuses on the next 25 years.
“WE MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE”
Arguing that the AK Party has achieved many firsts in Turkish democratic history, Yayman said, “The AK Party is a party that made the impossible possible in Turkish democratic history, and accomplished deeds that were deemed unachievable and even unimaginable.”
Reminding that there were political obstruction discourses against Erdoğan when the AK Party was founded in 2001, Yayman said that today, his party continues on its path after a great struggle.
Yayman said, “We are now at a time to propose a new contract, a new dream, and a new success story for the second 25 years. Our AK Party has started working for the 2053 targets as of today.”
“A QUIET REVOLUTION WAS ACHIEVED IN 25 YEARS”
Also touching on the economic and infrastructural changes between the period when the AK Party came to power and today, Yayman said the per capita national income rose from 3,500 dollars to 18,000 dollars.
Yayman stated that the number of universities increased from 76 to 207, and the length of divided highways increased from 6,000 kilometers to 30,000 kilometers.
“The AK Party has achieved a quiet revolution in the last 25 years,” said Yayman, adding that these investments played an important role in Turkey's transformation.
REMINDED OF THE WORKS IN THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE
Also touching on the efforts carried out after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, Yayman reminded that 455,000 independent units were built and delivered in the earthquake zone, and foundations were laid for 100,000 social housing units.
Yayman said these efforts show the importance the state attaches to the rebuilding process in the earthquake zone.
“THE AK PARTY'S RIVAL IS THE AK PARTY”
Arguing that there is a difference between the opposition's agenda and the AK Party's priorities, Yayman criticized the opposition.
Yayman said, “While the AK Party makes the 2053 plan, opposition parties are playing a game of 'seat grabbing.' They are playing a game of power. The opposition has entered a leadership race in courthouse corridors. Therefore, the AK Party's rival is the AK Party.”
Stating that they want a strong opposition in Turkey, Yayman said it is a requirement of democracy for the opposition to criticize the government and contribute to correcting mistakes if any.
Yayman also reminded of President Erdoğan's previously expressed words: “In the last 25 years, we have done great services and built great works in Turkey. But unfortunately, we could not close the gap of a domestic and national opposition in Turkey.”
Arguing that this situation has now become a “national security problem,” Yayman stated that for Turkey to become a global power, all 86 million people, with both the government and the opposition, need to contribute to the country's future.
EMPHASIS ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DEFENSE INDUSTRY
Also touching on the areas that should be prioritized for Turkey to become a global power in the future, Yayman said more work should be done on topics such as artificial intelligence, defense industry, digital transformation, industrial zones, the welfare of society, and protection of the family institution.
Yayman stated that they care about carrying out steps in these areas together with the nation.
“THE GREATEST DREAM OF OUR NATION IS A NEW CONSTITUTION”
Also speaking about the works the AK Party aims to achieve in its second 25 years, Yayman announced that a new constitution is among the priority goals.
Yayman said, “One of our greatest promises in the new era, in the second 25 years, is to make a new constitution. To make a civil, democratic, and contemporary constitution.”
Arguing that the current constitution was prepared during the coup period, Yayman stated that a new constitution should be made in the face of Turkey's changing needs.
“If Turkey is to become a global power, if the 21st century is to be Turkey's century, there needs to be software and a constitution suitable for this,” said Yayman, adding that work on the new constitution will continue in Parliament.
Yayman said the new constitution is one of the most important expectations of society.
“A TERROR-FREE TURKEY IS A STATE AND NATION POLICY”
Yayman also made evaluations about the Terror-Free Turkey process and the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion accepted in the TBMM General Assembly.
Stating that the AK Party has taken many steps in the past 25 years to solve various problems, Yayman said that at the current stage, the aim is to end terrorism, hand over weapons, and dissolve the organization.
Drawing attention to the fact that the law was accepted with broad support in the TBMM, Yayman stated that 467 deputies supporting the bill is an indication that a new era has begun in politics.
In this process, Yayman thanked President Erdoğan, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, those who contributed to the work in the TBMM, and MİT President İbrahim Kalın.
"WE WILL PROCEED WITHOUT OFFENDING OUR MARTYRS' FAMILIES AND VETERANS"
Yayman, emphasizing that the terror-free Turkey process is a "state and nation policy," said that further steps could be taken with the handover of weapons.
Yayman said, "When violence ends, there is nothing Turkey cannot do."
Stating that the sensitivities of martyrs' families and veterans should be taken into account in advancing the process, Yayman concluded his words as follows:
"Hopefully, with the strength and support we receive from our nation, we will continue on a roadmap without offending our martyrs' families and veterans. I believe that this process will accelerate during the summer period, and more developments that give hope to society will be experienced."
