AK Party Istanbul Deputy Şengül Karslı held a comprehensive field program in Beylikdüzü, meeting with neighborhood residents, factory workers, and local shopkeepers. Karslı listened to citizens' demands directly in their homes and workplaces, carrying out a study centered on people and social solidarity in politics.
After parliamentary work, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Şengül Karslı conducted an intensive field program in her constituency of Istanbul. During day-long visits in the Beylikdüzü district, Karslı established direct contact with different segments of society, from newly opened businesses to production facilities, from street shopkeepers to the homes of neighborhood residents. This program, highlighting the human-focused aspect of grassroots politics, is of great importance for on-site identification of neighborhood-level problems and first-hand listening of citizens' expectations.
SURPRISE VISIT TO SHOPKEEPERS
Deputy Şengül Karslı's Beylikdüzü schedule began with the opening program of a newly opened restaurant in the district. Karslı, cutting the opening ribbon together with neighborhood residents and business owners, expressed her wish that the new establishment would contribute to social life and revitalization in the area. After the ceremony, the Istanbul Deputy visited other nearby shopkeepers, stopping by stores along the street one by one to offer her best wishes.
Chatting briefly with shopkeepers behind their counters and citizens shopping, Karslı exchanged views on the daily life of the neighborhood and the state of local trade. Stating that the language of politics must above all involve sincerity, Karslı made the following assessment during the visit:
"The peace and joy of a neighborhood are hidden in the smiling faces of our shopkeepers who lovingly open their shop shutters in the morning. Our duty is to ensure the protection of that smiling face and those sincere bonds."
VOICE OF FEMALE WORKERS CARRIED TO PARLIAMENT
In the second part of her program, Karslı focused on workers contributing to industrial production, visiting a sock factory operating in the region. Touring the production areas of the facility and wishing the workers well, the Deputy closely examined sections where female labor is particularly intense.
Meeting with workers, Şengül Karslı listened to their daily life expectations, their children's education processes, and requests regarding the work environment. Stating that production and employment processes are the foundation of social welfare, Karslı used the following expressions in her conversation with the workers:
"The voice of every worker who works with the sweat of their brow, produces, and adds value to this country is very valuable to us. Improving the quality of working life in the factory means increasing the peace of our families as well."
"THE TRUE POWER OF POLITICS LIES IN BEING CLOSE TO THE CITIZEN"
After the factory contacts, Karslı took her program directly to households, visiting families in Beylikdüzü. In the citizen meeting, held in a warm family atmosphere far from traditional protocol, she came together with housewives, young people, and the elderly. In the homes visited, topics directly facilitating daily life, such as children's educational opportunities, neighborhood infrastructure and environmental arrangements, and access to social services, were discussed in a sincere manner.
Taking note of local demands conveyed over warm tea offered in citizens' homes, AK Party Deputy Şengül Karslı stated she would follow up on solutions with relevant institutions. Emphasizing that the true power of politics lies in being close to the citizen, Karslı summarized the field program after the home visits with these words:
"You cannot fully understand the condition of citizens by looking from a desk or from a distance. The way to find the right solution and take the right step goes through the living room and kitchen of our citizens. We always chart our course according to the hearts of our people."
The day-long Beylikdüzü field program concluded after a working report prepared for the on-site identification and resolution of social demands at the neighborhood level.
