A father, allegedly under the influence of alcohol in Russia, tied his young son to a rope and dangled him out of the window of their apartment on the 7th floor. At the time of the incident, it was observed that the child repeatedly pleaded, "Hold me," while the surrounding adults merely watched the event unfold. The Voronezh Regional Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been initiated ex officio following the incident. It was also stated that both the father and mother would be examined for suspicion of neglect and abuse.
The incident in Russia left viewers horrified. A father, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, tied his young son to a rope and dangled him out of the seventh-floor window of their apartment. The child, risking his life by mere seconds, pleaded in fear, "Hold me."
In the footage from the incident, the child, estimated to be around 5-6 years old, is seen being taken outside the window at night. The incident, which occurred at a height of approximately 80 meters, involved the child being lowered several meters with the help of a rope. He was then pulled back up again.
"Hold me," he screamed, but no one stopped it.
The footage captures the child crying out in fear, "Hold me, hold me," in the cold weather. However, the adults present chose to watch the incident instead of rescuing the child. Some individuals were seen laughing, while others recorded the moments on their cell phones.
As the father shouted to his friends, "Take a picture, take a picture," the child was only told to "Hold the rope." After a while, a woman nearby shouted, "Pull him up," and the child was brought back inside the window.
The father laughed and said, "This is fine."
The father, who pulled his son back inside, used the phrases "Okay, it's fine" while laughing despite the events that had transpired. The footage quickly spread on social media, garnering significant backlash.
The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.
Following the incident, the Voronezh Regional Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been initiated ex officio after the footage was made public. The official statement noted, "It has been determined that a person, while under the influence of alcohol, tied a child to a rope and dangled him out of the window of a multi-story building, and then pulled him back up. This act seriously endangered the child's life."
The statement also mentioned that both the father and mother would be examined for neglect and abuse, and that child protection units would be involved in the process.
Authorities: The location of the incident is being clarified.
The Voronezh Regional Governor's Office stated that it has not yet been confirmed whether the incident occurred within the city limits. However, it emphasized that the investigation is ongoing in all aspects.
