In Ümraniye, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu and six other suspects, including singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and folk singer İzzet Yıldızhan, were arrested in connection with the murder of young football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı. It was reported that after learning about Kalaycıoğlu's arrest, she had a crying fit and, in a state of great shock, tried to comprehend what was happening, asking, "Am I going to prison now?"
On March 19, in Sıddık Street, located in the Ümraniye district of Istanbul, rapper Vahap Canbay from the group Canbay & Wolker allegedly wanted to reconcile with singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, with whom he had recently broken up. Canbay sought help from his friend Kubilay Kundakçı (21), with whom he had a good relationship.
Kubilay Kundakçı went to the studio where Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu was located, along with Vahap Canbay and his friends. While the group was waiting in the vehicle, suspects who allegedly arrived at the scene in luxury cars with flashing lights carried out an attack. One of the suspects, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, opened fire on the group inside the vehicle. The 21-year-old football player Kubilay Kundakçı, who was hit by the bullets, was seriously injured. The young man was taken to the hospital but unfortunately could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.
10 SUSPECTS ARRESTED; MURDER WEAPON RECOVERED
Following the incident, police teams initiated efforts to capture the fleeing suspects and detained Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, M.R. (52), H.C.A. (25), M.K. (59), E.T. (63), A.Ö. (46), Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu (28), and Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu (50). A murder weapon was also recovered during the operation.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SUSPECTS FIRED AT THE VEHICLE
Investigations revealed that Kaan Kundakçı, who lost his life in the incident, and two others were sitting inside a parked vehicle when two different vehicles arrived at the scene, and one of the suspects who got out of these vehicles fired at Kundakçı's vehicle and fled.
7 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
As the ongoing investigations progressed, the number of detainees rose to 10 with the detention of İzzet Yıldızhan and businessman Bilal Kadayıfçıoğlu. The 10 suspects were sent to the courthouse in the morning after completing their procedures at the Gayrettepe Public Security Bureau.
After completing their statements at the prosecutor's office, the suspects Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, İzzet Yıldızhan, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, M.R., H.C.A., M.K., and E.T. were arrested by the magistrate court to which they were referred with a request for arrest and sent to prison.
BILAL KADAYIFÇIOĞLU RELEASED
Suspect Bilal Kadayıfçıoğlu, who was detained, was released after his statement at the prosecutor's office. Meanwhile, suspects Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu and A.Ö., who were referred to the magistrate court, were released under judicial control conditions.
ALEYNA KALAYCIOĞLU BROKE DOWN IN TEARS
According to information shared by journalist Emrullah Erdinç, Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu went into a state of shock and broke down in tears upon learning of the arrest decision. Unable to control her tears, Kalaycıoğlu asked her lawyer and others nearby, "Am I going to prison now?" After the arrest decision, Kalaycıoğlu was sent to the Marmara Women's Prison in Silivri.
