CHP Kars Deputy İnan Akgün Alp claimed in his speech at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly that a jewelry vehicle transporting gold from Gaziantep to Şırnak was robbed under the guise of a police checkpoint, and that the suspects involved in the incident were personnel from the gendarmerie.

CHP Kars Member of Parliament İnan Akgün Alp claimed that a jewelry vehicle carrying gold from Gaziantep to the vicinity of Şırnak was stopped and robbed under the guise of a police checkpoint, and that the robbers were gendarmerie personnel serving in the military commands of Diyarbakır and Şırnak.

Speaking in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Alp said, "The jewelry vehicle carrying gold from Antep to the vicinity of Şırnak was unfortunately robbed at a police checkpoint in a district of Mardin. It has been understood in the investigation that those who committed the robbery in police uniforms are not actually police. One was from the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie command, and three were military personnel from the Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie command."

"WHEN THE SECURITY IS LIKE THIS, NO ONE IS SAFE"

Alp continued his remarks: "Unfortunately, if our police and soldiers have started to stop citizens and rob them, and if they have largely fallen into the trap of online betting, we need to think very seriously about this. If you ask the minister, he will say 'Turkey is still a rule of law.' But if you ask us, when the security is like this, no one is safe."

No official statement has yet been made regarding the allegations in question.
